Re: Day 2 QB Battle
Bronco could also be trying to give the third string defense some work. Put in Nelson and some core receivers and see what the third stringers can do.dmcougar wrote:Jan did say that Nelson threw against the 3rd defense several times. The TD to JJ was against the 3rd's he said. Jake got the first series and had several against the one's.

Re: Day 2 QB Battle
Heaps yards in Day Two against the 1st string defense: 47 (two series)
Heaps didn't throw against the 2nd or 3rd string defense.
Nelson's yards in Day Two against the 2nd string defense: 13 (two series)
Nelson didn't throw against the 1st string defense.
Heaps looks more every day like he has the starting position locked up. He threw exclusively against the 1s today, while Nelson split time against the 2s and 3s.

Re: Day 2 QB Battle
This seems to be slowly becoming the pattern. Maybe I'm reading too far into things, but if the coaches keep having Heaps go up against the 1st stringers and Riley against the 2nd/3rd stringers...Mars wrote:
