2012 - Moses Folauhola - DE (No BYU Offer)

Post by byucougar1 »

True Blue Cougar statements about him at the 2011 All Poly Camp - Bountiful, UT.

"Defensive end Moses Foluahola (Hunter HS, Utah) was the stand out defensive lineman. Moses 6’1” 235 was relentless coming off the edge out hustling and over powering the offensive line. Coach Nua singled him out as a player he really liked for his aggressive style of play."

Talo Steves (byu.scout) noted:

"True to form, senior Moses Folauhola from Utah’s Hunter High School performed very well Friday from the defensive end position. He's quick, has a strong lower body and long arms. He gave offensive tackles fits all day long and is very aggressive off the edge.

At about 6 feet and 230 pounds, Folauhola has all the tools college coaches look for at the defensive end position except for one thing: size. He might be better suited at linebacker at the next level. Utah State, Utah, Washington State, UCLA and Weber State are looking at him."

Due to his size, he sounds more like a 4-3 Defensive end than a 3-4 player, unless be plays LB. BYU tends to go for huge OLB types, so he might be a middle backer type. Sounds like his style of play may suit it.

He commit to Utah. We never offered. He is a better fit for the 4-3 anyway due to his size.
