So the team was used to having him in there as part of the offense and defense every day during practice, but then that piece was missing during games.
Dave Rose said that Emery had been playing exclusively on the scout team, so he wasn't sure how integration was going to work.

Ah, ok, thanks!

How can a 1,000+ career points player be another McKay Cannon?
As in the first game in the middle of season he has a really good game and we think the rest will be the same and then they're not.
Looks like my worry was justified. He shot 4-6 for 11 points on his debut and since then has only scored in double digits just once and has only shot over 50% in a game once. He has scored 0 points 4 times. So, yes, a 1,000 point scorer can be another McKay Cannon.

And again, for the record, I don't hate Nick. I hate the NCAA and their silly rules and overly heavy-handed sanctions against one player/team and very light-handed sactions against other players/teams.

Yes. You were spot on. Do you see any hope that Nick can regain his offensive prowess to match his defensive intensity and performance?

Not this season. My best hope is that he works his butt off in the off season and something clicks to bring him back to his former self. However, I don't think he ever regains his starter status. He has rightfully lost that. Understandably, his confidence is shaken, and until he gets that back I don't see him averaging 10 ppg, which would have to be from off the bench.

However, the great thing about sports is that you just never know what will happen. I hope that he (and the rest of the team) get hot and reach their full potential, but the chances of that happening seem slim to me.

At least from the television view of things, Emery's defense has seemed quite good. I thought his handling of St Mary's high scoring guard was outstanding.
