Jabari Watch--it's OVER!

Ok, I know we have a few threads on this already. But this potential news, given that JB would be absolutely the biggest recruit byu would ever see--in any sport--deserves an official WATCH.

Jeff Chatman tweeted the following link, saying "Dave Rose is all over it."

http://espn.go.com/chicago/story/_/id/7 ... re-recruit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As some have suggested, BYU has a shot at this kid. I have upped my prediction to 30%. Here's why.

JB either goes local : Illinois
Or goes big: Kentucky or Duke
Or goes Dave Rose and BYU

He virtually transcends the need to go to best coach and school to prep him for nba. He's "counter-culture" in some ways, which helps increase BYU as a choice.

I get that it is still less likely than more, but with BYU in tv almost every game and a family that has the means to travel as desired and certainly mom has Poly cousins everywhere--he's not just a poor kid from Chicago.

Then, finally, having other recruits who could get him the ball and surround with greatness or shall I say good-enough ness, there's a chance.

Waych On! Believe Cougar fans!

I've said, if we start out 10-0 and end up with 25 wins, we have a very, very good shot at this kid.

Doesn't Jabari want to commit in the early period which is in Nov? In which case, BYU will have just barely started playing.

That's what I recall. But I really doubt his decision will be made at a 10-0 start. Now if it was an 0-10 start, maybe. But he already knows what Dave and the Cougs can do.
I really think that the only thing basketball that matters is whether he wants a shot at a NC or not. If that really matters, he has to either have an extraordinary belief in his own abilities to take BYU's current core + chatman, Calvert, and then Emery and himself, on a serious run or he will take the gamble believing that he has his future sown up and his quality of life and surroundings are more important.

With Mrs. Jimmer on board, it's all but in the bag now!

Love that

Unfortunately, the Fredette line ends with Jimmer. I've stood next to Whitney before and she's a shorty. I have a hard time believing they could make a 6+ footer. (why don't BYU athletes think about our future recruiting before they fall in love and procreate?) (If I recall Shawn Bradley married a very short girl too.)

For example, we need to cross breed 6'5" Charles Abouo with 6'7" Jennifer Hamson. I think that would result in a 7 foot tall Abouo!! the second coming of David Robinson. :)
Gotta love eugenics!!

yes, Whitney might have an inch or two on Mrs. Bradley.
