Jordan Stone is not a great basketball player, but a solid enforcer. exactly what we need for next year... he's graduating this year so he can play immediately next year

Who would you give up for a year of having stone play with our returning guards?

I had hopes that Sharp would become our enforcer, but the dude hasn't put on an ounce of weight since he got to the Y.

We're already over on scholarships right now, but if sharp leaves and andrus goes on his mission now, we would have room for stone and aytes... that's not a bad team and stone would be huge in the non con until aytes got eligible.

Rumors swirling that Kyle Davis PF/USU could be headed our way. Maybe we take Stone for a year as well

I think stone would be solid, never spectacular. He and Austen could cause some problems in the middle and pick up a lot of rebounds. I think he would be an upgrade to sharp at this point.

Anyway we can talk Worthington into playing football next year then join the BBall team mid season? That would get football to pick up his scholarship and free another one up for us. I know, it's a dream, but would be nice, except for the fact Worthington needs all the BBall practice he can get. ;)

Something bad is brewing up there

The way it looks, is Kyle Davis is leaving, and there might be bigger drama up there, and he also just got engaged (not sure that has any bearing on his decision). Anywhere he goes, he's going to have to sit out the year unless something funky happened up there so we have to assume that he's not eligible to us for next year.

Stone is eligible now because he's a 4 yr grad with a post grad year left.

You can get them both by showing Sharp the door and asking Andrus to go on his mission 1st. Also because stone is only a 1 year player and davis would have 3 to play 2, they fit.

No idea if any of this will transpire, but it looks like Utah State is in huge trouble right now and it would be wise for BYU (and the Utes) to help make sure Utah State never again gets serious basketball footing in this state.

Davis is everything that Josh Sharp never became. He's a double double machine now and was less in demand than Josh out of high school (originally signed with SUU) but he's built himself into a very solid 4 that can rebound, score, and most importantly play defense. If he takes his year off with the intention of getting in even better shape and getting stronger, he'll be a great 2 year pickup. He's not an all American, but he is an enforcer and effort guy. Regardless I dont' see how he's eligible for next year unless something really really bad happened up there that frees him up immediately.

How would we add Stone, Davis, Aytes, and Musoku?? If the Rumors are true we are looking at adding all 4 of these guys being that Musoku has a rumored offer

BYU doesn't need enforcers. They need shot makers. BYU has had all of ONE shot maker since Jimmer left - Haws. Rose has whiffed on EVERY shooter he's recruited since Haws. Everyone he's brought in to make outside shots has missed. Some so spectacularly they were gone within one season. Others just have never panned out. BYU has a desperate need for shooters and they keep missing on guys. Until that changes the Cougars will struggle.

We have a roster full of guys who can't shoot (Halford, Winder, Carlino, Collinsworth) and guyis who are afraid to shoot (Sharp, Austin) that's too many guys who can't be counted on on the offensive end.

Defense is our problem not offense. We need enforcers in the paint.

It'd be nice if our guards made better offensive decisions, but we can score. We led the nation in getting to the ft line and were at the top in ftm. We were in the top 15% in scoring offense.

Defense, defense, defense...
