Love the good press and the (crazy-pie-in-the-sky) idea of Taysom as a dark horse Heisman candidate. The last line in the write up is key though, "BYU just needs to keep winning."

If THill averages 300/100/3 (TDs) he would for the season have 3,600 yards passing, 1,200, rushing, and 36 TDs. If that doesnt get him at least a ticket to New York, pee on the voters.
THill is special. If he can avoid injuries and keep INTs down, and have a few marquee plays, he would become one of the BYU greats, surpassing Hall, Beck, and probably join the upper echelon of Young, Detmer, McMahan, and Bosco.
But, for now, well done Tays-man.

The key will be if Taysom can turn in decent numbers against Texas, Virginia, Boise, and UCF. He should easily average 400+ yards of offense against the rest of the schedule.

UCF's D struggled mightily in opener. BSU glory days are past. UVA will get theirs when they come to Provo!! And Houston is gonna be sucking air in Provo after last week.
C'mon converts, and ye of little faith, stiff-necked-- its not too late. Undefeated never looked more likely relative to 2014. USU could be one of toughest games remaining if they get back their stud LB from injury.

The KEY will be keeping THill from injury. He will take care of the rest.

Actually those numbers would land him two tickets to New York. Once in December for the Heisman and one in late April.Cougs_Rule wrote:If THill averages 300/100/3 (TDs) he would for the season have 3,600 yards passing, 1,200, rushing, and 36 TDs. BYU PER W/L Since 1972: 432-76 (.850)
(8.4xYDS)+(330xTD)+(100xCOM)-(200xINT)

Don't forget the 24 rushing TDs. IIRC, these numbers would be better than Tebow, Newton, and Manziel at the time of the award

I found it a little interesting how some were on here because of how they performed last year or how they think they will perform this. Not for how they performed in week 1. It would be like giving someone a Nobel Prize based solely on expectation.
I did like when you compared him to the others he outperformed most of them.

Re: Taysom One of Bleacher Reports Top Performers
I love THill and the dual threat monster that he is at QB, but I absolutely refuse to look beyond Saturday's game. It is fun to speculate what might be, but I am one superstitious fan who holds fast to the mantra of "one game at a time". This season does indeed have the potential to be a special one for THill and the team, but first things first...Beat Texas! Go Cougars!SpiffCoug wrote:Actually those numbers would land him two tickets to New York.
