Two Plays...Two incredibly unlikely plays
The game is tied at 14, about 4 minutes left in the first half, and for the first time in his 450 touches at BYU, Jamaal Williams loses a fumble (not entirely his fault). 1 out of 450 is 0.22% of his carries/catches in his career. Next play, throw to the end zone and behind 21-14.
We all know the other play.
If the first play doesn't happen, BYU is likely up going into halftime. If the 2nd play doesn't happen, we're likely tied or down at most 4 at half. Taysom has played amazing ball in the 2nd half of games.
My prediction...Stewart led BYU wins all but one of it's remaining games (likely Cal...they are one hail mary away from being undefeated right now).

Think how the game would have changed if the pass that hit LaBronson in the back and was caught by the USU WR on the ground hadn't been caught. That was 3rd down on their 20 yard line. They ended up scoring a TD on that drive after the offsides on the fieldgoal.

Officially it was Taysom that lost the fumble, but yeah, that play changed the entire game.

The fumble was reviewed and attributed to Taysom Hill by the official statistician the day after the game ("Hey, Bro!" "How was your surgery?" "Oh, good--glad to hear it." "Just wanted to let you know....").
Jamaal still has NO fumbles in his BYU career.

We should give him less touches.snoscythe wrote:The fumble was reviewed and attributed to Taysom Hill by the official statistician the day after the game ("Hey, Bro!" "How was your surgery?" "Oh, good--glad to hear it." "Just wanted to let you know....").

Re: Two Plays...Two incredibly unlikely plays
Not to be nit-picky, but I beleive that it is no "lost" fumbles. He has had one fumble that he promptly fell on, and I can't remember the exact gamesnoscythe wrote:The fumble was reviewed and attributed to Taysom Hill by the official statistician the day after the game ("Hey, Bro!" Edit, looks like it was Virginia last year

Re: Two Plays...Two incredibly unlikely plays
Like Bronco likes to say, this game hinged on about 5 or 6 big plays, and unluckily they all went the wrong way for us. Even with the injury to Hill, if 1) we don't fumble the exchange, 2) Bronson can knock that pass down instead of letting it get caught OR JJ isn't offsides on that field goal, 3) Leslie catches the 1st and goal pass, 4) Houk catches the pass inside the 10 setting up 1st and goal, and 5) Preator doesn't get burned at the end of the half, we probably win that game by double digits.
If the yewts take the field and there are no BYU fans to pour beer on, will anybody come?
