The best way to maximize Playoff chances:
Have 11 football teams.
Play 8 conferences games (less overall losses).

Best for respect & stability:
Have 12 teams + Championship game.
Play 8 conference games (better OOC wins, more bowl teams in conference).

That's quite a slam. I think he's wrong regarding BYU and what they bring to the table. But, I am biased.
Someone needs to add Bowlsby as the definition of douche in Urban Dictionary. What an idiot.

Between the lines, though, this is just the schools not wanting to give up revenue, particularly the lower Big12 schools.

If the Big12 goes 2 - 3 years in a row getting snubbed, they'll change their tune. The contenders within the Big12 will start whining about the leeches. You can also bet the moment Texas gets snubbed, Bowlsby will suddenly find himself actively looking for new schools or a new job.

Biggest obstacle for BYU to get to the Big XII: West Virginia.

Seems like almost every article I see on the subject of expansion has a West Virginia reference or a WV troll in the comments whining about BYU. Twerps just got in and they're strutting around like a bunch of Utes.

Can't wait to see them get pounded by the Cougars out here at FedEx field in a coupla years.

I get that same impression. At least the AD just left for an NCAA job. We need Texas and OK to come forward now and push for BYU if there is any expansion.

Yes they lost Luck as AD. That should be a positive for us. He also leaves the playoff committee because of his new job.

Dan Wolken, USA Today's college football writer, was just on 1320 KFAN this morning and said "nobody wants BYU for expansion--why would they?"

But that is nothing but plain trolling from our good friend Tim Montemayor--Wolken is a rabid Ute fan. His one sentence USA Today bio even pays homage to Rice-Eccles.

Methinks they doth protest too much.

WVU hurts BYU only in the way that the Big 12 might not want to spread across that much of the country.

BYU is helped by the fact they're in the west because it's another TV window the Big 12 could have.

BYU should partner up with Colorado State (best market in the area, improving facilities) and put on a full court press to get into the Big 12.
