Should I be concerned that this guy is the biggest story in the off season for BYU sports? Come on, everyone has a strength and conditioning coach. I would be shocked if BYU is doing anything any better than anyone else. If he made such a huge difference, why wasn't a change made to our program years ago?

That's the question, right?

7 weeks and we'll see if there is any noticeable difference on the field.

I take as a positive it means that the players are keeping their noses clean and there have been no significant injuries.

Were there any other variables that changed or was he the only one? Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to get a clear picture of what changed.

BYU has struggled for over a decade to get out from under the Coach Stiggins model of strength and conditioning, which went of style the same time as rollerblades.

This move to more plyometric-based conditioning is long overdue.

BTW, there's been a lot of talk about the "bash bros". Exciting stuff.

Coach Omer was a step down from Coach Stiggins. Stiggins was progressive up until the moment he stopped coaching. Then things really started to go downhill...

That said, I am STOKED for Wintrich and his new training approach which is long overdue, and the players seem to be as well!
