LOGAN, Utah - Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Barnes announced Thursday that two additional games have been added to its existing football contract with BYU, extending the series through 2020.
The games will be played at Utah State on Oct. 4, 2019 and at BYU on Oct. 2, 2020, both on Friday night.
The in-state rivals are now scheduled to meet at Romney Stadium in Logan in 2015, 2017 and 2019 and at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo in 2016, 2018 and 2020. Game times and broadcast plans will be announced at a later date.
"We are excited to continue our home and home series with BYU long-term," said Barnes. "This rivalry is important to both institutions and the state of Utah."
All-time, Utah State and BYU have faced one another 84 times as the Aggies are 35-46-3 against the Cougars, including an 18-16-2 record in Logan, a 17-27-1 record in Provo and a 0-3 record at neutral sites.
Overall, BYU is Utah State's second-most played rivalry behind Utah (111) as the Aggies and Cougars have played one another every year except nine (1943, 1944, 1945, 1995, 1998, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007) dating back to its inaugural meeting in 1922.
