Why is Trump dodging Cruz & Kasich?

It's been 45 days since the GOP held a debate. Why is Trump afraid to face his opponents?

I understand the question, but we both know why he wants as little time in the spotlight as possible for now. He is in cruise (or should I say Cruz) control for the moment. Nothing to gain by getting in the mud and wrestling around with Cruz and Kasich. It is what it is. High risk, low reward the more he opens his mouth. Especially since this is Trump we are talking about.

He's denying them free media access and avoiding a breeding ground for blunders. It's a smart move on his part, especially after they've had 12 or so debates already.

Cruz is a much brighter, better informed, and "quicker on his feet" man than Trump. For a successful and theoretically bright guy, Trump says some really dumb stuff.

He says dumb stuff because he's not very well informed on much of anything (and doesn't think he has to be...I mean, he's Trump!) and he's emotional, impulsive and often totally irrational. Let's hand him the nuclear codes. What a freaking joke. As bad a president as Obama has been, the country still survives and is still a nice place to live. I have serious fears of that not remaining the case if Trump gets to the presidency.

On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of Cruz before this campaign, but I've grown to respect the man through the process. He is well informed. He's smart and he's principled. I don't agree with him on his take on every issue, but I respect that he respects the Constitution and wants to uphold it according to what he believes it says and means. I think he'd actually be a better president than a senator, to be honest.
