K Austin Brasher is leaving football

I don't mind the kid making this decision, but I just wish it would have come earlier. It's pretty late to find a quality kicker.

Or was this guy pushed out to make room for someone else? Was he on scholarship?

Brasher was a walk-on. Trevor Sampson (senior in 2015) was the #1 kicker and kicked FGs. Austin Brasher (junior in 2015) was the #2 kicker and did the kickoffs.

So for 2016, here are the kickers left on the roster for now:
Corey Edwards, Sophomore?/Junior? (scholarship) Averaged 56.4 yards per kickoff on seven attempts in 2015
James Baird, Freshman (walk-on) Joined the team in the spring as a walk-on

I also saw loyal cougars listed Andrew Mikkelsen as back in the spring as a walk-on sophomore. He played for BYU in 2014 as a freshman and averaged 59.1 yards per kickoff on 72 kicks but was not on the roster in 2015.
