Re: BSU Preview 2016
The Broncos have had the scoring lead through each game this season. They've never had to come from behind all year.
Hope that changes on Thursday

Re: BSU Preview 2016
Jump on Boise early and they may not know how to respond. Unfortunately, BYU hasn't really jumped on any team early this year as we've been outscored 42-41 in the 1st quarter. We've only had one end of 1st quarter lead this year (21-14 vs Toledo) and only one halftime lead (9-0 vs Arizona)vancouvercougar wrote:The Broncos have had the scoring lead through each game this season. Re: BSU Preview 2016
They sure look beatable tonight. Colorado State is winning right now.
I guess I hope that Boise State ekes out a win so they stay ranked, but lose a little self-confidence.

The QB is accurate and the receivers sure handed. The RB is very good. I think we have a good chance to establish a running game against their DLine. I think controlling time of possession is going to be important.

Re: BSU Preview 2016
BSU coach said in post game interview that you have to run the ball in tough games, and that's what they did against CSU. Hoping our O line and running game perform like the Michigan State game.

Re: BSU Preview 2016
They might have been challenged by CSU because they were scheming for BYU. I doubt that they have had a truly physical game yet. BYU will give them that and more. For BYU, It will be a winnable game, but also a chance to lose. Cougars had better be up for this one. I think BYU can win the rest of its schedule and go 9-3, (as I had predicted), if they can get past the Broncos.
BSU's season pivots around this game. They will bring ferocity and big effort.
BYU by 31 to 24.

Re: BSU Preview 2016
I figured 8-4 season for BYU ... but right now it is looking very possibly 9-3.
BSU is always tough, and the Smurf Turf is a tough thing for players to get accustomed to. I listened to Brian Logan and Ross Apo talk about how the turf itself is good for a few missed assignments a game. Hard to get ready for that ugly stuff.
BSU fans will be there IN FORCE, it will be a tough one for BYU fans to get tickets to. BSU fans do look at BYU as a rivalry, and they believe they are better (record to date sadly supports that); and they are loud and make a difference.
I believe BSU is over-ranked, no quality wins (WSU is the closest thing to a quality win, but living on the Palouse, I can tell you WSU wasn't good back then, and the coach and players knew it ... they are a different club right now) ... but with BSU when playing BYU, it doesn't matter if they are over or under ranked ... they will come out tough ... they have a knack at winning. They will be difficult.
BYU will come back with Pau'u back and hopefully Handsome will be back as well. As more healed up team with some confidence. It is a super short week, but BYU has one more day than BSU for preparing. Both coaching staffs have proven they are competent and capable.
This will be a tough one. And I think it will be close, but I think BYU's a more solid and well-rounded team than BSU has faced this year. BYU wins 28-20.

I wonder if any teams ever considered putting yellow visors on their helmets to make the field appear green?
