Big Day Today

Big12 Presidents will finish their meeting and a press conference to announce what they are doing or not doing. Dreams will be fulfilled or crushed for several schools. BYUtv will cover the press conference. I think it is 4pm MST but the time could change.

Heard the consultants are meeting again with the presidents will answers to questions from the last meeting and possibly updated information. this should help us by reiterating the strength of our program once again.

A big rumor floating around is BYU football only and UC all sports. I would be okay with that.

I would accept BYU to the Big 12 in football only, but I hope that all sports go to the Big 12. BYU basketball deserves to be in the big 12.

My gut says no one will be invited. But my gut also says that gas station hot dogs are a legitimate breakfast option... so who knows.

The prevailing opinion in the media (including Trevor Matich) is that the Big 12 is going to do nothing.

There have once again been so many rumors floating about, especially these last couple of days going every which way. My gut says it's not going to happen for BYU now or even if they put it off for later. I honestly would be shocked beyond explanation if they were.

My nightmare is that they say no expansion now and we have to continue to hang out there. I simply want the process to be over one way or the other. The sooner we know we have to do with the status quo or join an inferior conference, it will be easier to continue on.

I see an increased level of tweets that there will be no expansion.

No expansion. Not a single team could cross the 8-vote threshold.

What's ironic is that, if they held a vote to either expand or not expand, expansion would have been unanimous. But, because of the conference bylaws, the question was instead "Do we invite BYU?" etc., etc., and no one got to 8.

There's going to be no expansion. I would be shocked if there is any. The only school that would have made sense is BYU and once the Gay community came out against us it gave the big 12 its excuse to do nothing.
