LOL. A gimmicky move for a team that really doesn't deserve to be in the tournament. The resume should speak for itself at this point. Oh yeah, there is another way. Win the conference tournament. Get the auto bid.

They are talking about a game with Kansas St. on Wednesday. We will know this weekend.
Our resume is actually pretty good except for a little low NET. Too many Q4 in conference games.

NET ranking is a major factor and we are #51. My experience is that you generally need to be top 35 to be safe as an at large. We're not close. Kansas St. is #65. We'd have to play away at their place for it to be a Quad 1 for us, but then we wouldn't be a Quad 1 for them. It would have to be a neutral game. With Kansas St. being even further down the NET rankings they have even further to climb so a single game won't benefit them much.
There's enough games on a basketball schedule and with 64/68 teams making it and a clear auto bid path through the conference tournament, there's no need for something like this. Speaks of desperation. If we were truly good enough to get in we wouldn't need to schedule this game.

Or we are trying to schedule this game because we had a game cancel.

We have more Q1 Q2 wins then all of the other bubble teams. The committee has in the past rewards teams for playing tough games. We still have a chance to get in.
