Odd Scenario of the Day
Since it's the off-season...
The Big Ten could expand to 14, the PAC-10 could expand to 12, and the Big XII could grow back to full, and no non-BCS team could be taken.
Possibility:
~The Big Ten finally expands, taking Notre Dame (about time!), Rutgers, and Syracuse, jumping from 11 schools to 14 (Pitt and Nebraska just miss the cut).
~The PAC-10 jumps on broken-hearted Missouri with a quick offer, which is enough to finally convince Colorado to come along as well (give my regards to bridesmaids BYU and Utah).
~The Big XII replaces the two departing North division teams with Louisville and Cincinnati (sorry TCU and Memphis).
That leaves Pitt, UConn, West Virginia, and South Florida without BCS status, shrinking the number of BCS conferences by 1 and the number of total BCS teams by 4. In fact, the 7 Big east basketball-only teams may evict them entirely, leaving them without a conference at all. The new non-football Big east could raid the Atlantic 10, and the BE refugees could form a new conference (the Big North) by raiding C-USA and taking Army/Navy, bringing to end the era of the independent. The MWC steals Boise State and maybe one or two more WAC teams, C-USA robs the Sunbelt and the WAC, and the surviving WAC absorbs the remaining Sunbelt. The ACC (though tempted) and the SEC remain pat, and somehow the MAC remains unscathed.

Pitt and West Virginia are way better than Rutgers and Syracuse. I don't know much about type of schools the Big 10 wants are what type of schools Pitt and WV are, but just from a football aspect, Pitt and WV would be better.Mars wrote:

The Rutgers and Syracuse decision would be made due to $$$$. The TV market and potential revenue for the conference is greater with Rutgers and Syracuse vs. Pitt and WV.tmoney35 wrote:Pitt and West Virginia are way better than Rutgers and Syracuse. WV's academics aren't up to the Big Ten's standard, nor their TV market, and Pitt's market is partially covered by Penn State already I believe.kiwibacon wrote:The Rutgers and Syracuse decision would be made due to $$$$.
