This is like watching a Ping-Pong match...
Utah gives notice to the MWC: http://utah.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1094386
Utah not contacted yet by the PAC-11: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/n ... nwest-utah
Utah to join PAC-12 on Wednesday: http://www.csnbayarea.com/06/15/10/FONT ... eedID=2478
PAC-11 Commish denies invite for Utah: http://blogs.sltrib.com/utes/index.php? ... &tb=1&pb=1
All I know is, the PAC-10 tried to hit a home run with Texas and Oklahoma, and wound up getting a single instead.
Many have called them the "losers" of this round of expansion: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports ... loser.html
I mean, Colorado and Utah sure wouldn't have helped the miserable state of PAC-10 basketball last year, that's for sure!

I still think you are a little optimistic here, at best this is fouled off, or swing and a miss!Mars wrote:All I know is, the PAC-10 tried to hit a home run with Texas and Oklahoma, and wound up getting a single instead.
But it would have been more entertaining for the pac 10 crowds. Can you imagine the heckling Boylen would get when he starts acting up.Mars wrote:I mean, Colorado and Utah sure wouldn't have helped the miserable state of PAC-10 basketball last year, that's for sure!

They would not have hurt the PAC10 in hoops either, though. The PAC10 was DREADFUL last year, and that is being kind.

So let's say the pUkes join the PAC and BYU continues the rivalry and we play them year in and year out. What happens WHEN the Utes end up 5th in the PAC, do we play them again in the Vegas bowl? Play them once and then 2 weeks later play them again?

The LV bowl will choose either Utah or BYU but not both.

I don't see the pac10 getting any better in the future. they have sucked as of late. the mwc just needs to keep kicking their butts every chance they get and do whatever it takes to get that auto bid.
