Kid is 6'3" and 185 and plays at Lone Peak, HS.

Quote from a HS FB reporter states, ""Talon Shumway is a more athletic version of Jordan Pendelton." He might be the most gifted athlete to ever play football for Lone Peak HS.

Sophmore Season Stats:

Rushing: 113 carries/589 yards/12 TDs.
Passing: 34-52/388 yards/5 TD's/2 Int's.
Receiving: 23 catches/202 yds/1 TD.

Talon Shumway does play basketball at Lone Peak. Lone Peak won the Utah State 5A Basketball Championship for 2011 and Talon Shumway was the MVP for the State Championship game. He ended the championship game with 19 points and had two monster two handed dunks in the fourth quarter... Go figure, he was only a sophmore, and this kid can jump out of the gym... He is super entertaining to watch in football and basketball. In football, he has the break away speed like Luke Staley, and the around the corner quickness of Marshall Faulk, and the Spin moves and balance like Emmett Smith... We will be watching this superstart for a long time to come!!

So basically he's going to be the best football player ever in the history of the world. Well, at least if we're already comparing him to two NFL Hall of Famer and one of the ten best players at BYU we're not setting th ebar too high for him.

What is the latest news on Talon Shumway?? I have been watching this kid play basketball for Lone Peak H.S. this year (2012), and he is definitely the engine of the Lone Peak basketball team. Lone Peak has great shooters in Emery and Haws, but the engine is Talon Shumway. Great Defense, offense, quickness, aggression, and hustle. Shumway is a great shooter too, but is an unselfish, energetic assist man on the court... this athleticism is very rare.

I have seen that Talon is being recruited in football by Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, Utah State, Utah, and BYU. These are the schools I know about that are recruiting him (and likely there are others). I am wondering if anyone knows where he truly wants to play football?? Will he stay in State (Ut) or will he be leaving for greener pastures?? I hope he will eventually select an in-State school (BYU of course). I would really love to see his football career evolve within the State. Any news? please post!
