He said he is leaving after the first game to go back to DC. He will not watch our game or allow them to talk about Romney's alma mater team.
True, but the tickets are sold for both games (doubleheader), so once the President decided to go, my guess is that tickets became impossible to get. They don't sell tickets for the second game only.

Anyone know how long it took to sell out for the BYU/Iona game? I went on a couple of hours after the brackets were announced to look at tickets and they only have tickets available for the Wed games.
It probably doesn't help that the President is going to be at the Tuesday games with the British PM.

We're lucky we got in. Take what you can get. Good thing the Pac12 imploded this year.

BYU has always gotten 2 seeds worse than they deserve. Even last year. Why should/would it be any different this year. We typically end up in a bracket that's horrible for us location wise too. Last year was the exception.

The committee knows BYU travels "well" or at least better than most schools. So they use/abuse BYU, putting us in a bracket at a venue that wouldn't draw much interest otherwise. Now they'll make some money off it.

Dayton vs. some other 14 seed-esque team isn't going to draw much interest. Dayton vs. BYU will draw more interest. Interest = $. The no-Sunday-play excuse is used to justify their greed and mistreatment.

As for Marquette, I think they have played like us this year. They lost a lot of their games to the upper teams in the bleast and spanked the bottem level teams. I actually feel good about our matchup with them. But how about this for possible tourny matchups - CSU, then FLA, and then Mich St.? I would feel fine with CSU but FLA and Mich St? I wonder how indepth the committee really gets. We could squeak by FLA but MSU has had our number.

Do you think Marquette, a 3 seed, feels slighted that they would have to face a team like BYU as a 14 seed??

Something tells me they're not too concerned about us, unless that team that almost beat Baylor suddenly decides to show up again.

Since they'll probably destroy us...no.

BYU's true seed was a 48 which equates to a 12 seed but we end up getting hosed with a 14 seed
What does "true seed" mean? BYU had an RPI of 42 this morning (11 seed).
This year, the committee released the seeds 1-68. While BYU was 48th, Iona was actually 50th. Because of that, it seems that both teams should have been able to avoid the play-in. Here's the link to the complete seeding list:

http://www.sbnation.com/2012-ncaa-tourn ... rall-seeds" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Because BYU is in the play-in, they were assigned to Louisville for the second round, the feeling being that Dayton to Louisville negates some of the problems from last year of long travel in the 36 hours between the play-in game and the second round game. It's about a 2 1/2 hour bus ride from Dayton to Louisville. I'm only about 4 hours from Louisville, so I'm hoping they get through round 1 so I can snag some tickets for Thursday night.
