it is true, however, that Mendenhall has been very successful defending against USAFA. Unless the AFA QB develops a deep pass option, I think BYU will do okay. assignment football is generally a BYU strength. I don't recall AFA using much trickery or deep passing plays.

Plus, this one's at LES.

Oh, wait...
lol...

Is it just me or does BYU always seem to choke on a big play on defense?

Countless 3rd and longs given up, 4th downs... those are the most frustrating things for me to watch
Did these types of plays cause flashbacks to 03-04 BYU defense for anyone else? Those teams were notorious for giving up 3rd down and 75 yard type plays.

Very Very glad to come out of NM with a win.

I'll take an ugly win over a loss any game on our schedule.

I do think that Air Force will be very, very tough to get a "W" against though...
AFA is going to be a long, tough game.

Whoever makes less mistakes is going to win that one says my crystal ball.

And I am twice as glad that this 2nd bye week scrimmage is over so I can look forward to screaming DEFENSE at LES instead of my TV. :D

4-3 or bust... hell, I'd even take a 3-3-5 over our 3-4 right now.

Our D-Line has got to change. They don't put pressure on the QB and the DB's get victimized. This is just sickening. They don't really rush until the very end of the game. They seem to be soooooo woried about the run game they just hold their gap and after a few seconds try to push through their blocker, and finally put pressure seven or eight seconds after the WR's took off! Other teams are able to both stop the run and rush the QB. I can't wait till this line is gone so we can see if its the coaches or the players. I am sick of our db's and lb's looking silly becuase they can't stay with the WR's for eight seconds. C'mon coach! How about a little pressure! Also, it helps to not be an open book. Screen play on so many obvious blitzes. Just very poor play.
Once again I think it was the LBs that let us down, losing Hooks early really hurt us. The LBs are the ones who should have stopped many of those 15+ yard screens. Created more pressure on the QB and drop more effectively into coverage.
