The scoreboard is the only fair way to judge who is better in my book. Utah beat BYU this year. That makes them the better team this year. Doesn't feel good to admit that, but arguing any other way clouds the truth.
So a 1-11 UTEP team was better than a 10-3 BYU team in 1985 that finished ranked #16?

Sorry, it's a good rule of thumb, but it's not hard, fast and carved in stone.

Yes, my logic is admittedly ridiculous, especially when you throw out examples like UTEP. We can analyze this until the cows come home and still end up back at square one. However, I don't own a cow. While I like the simplicity of my logic on this issue, I don't feel passionate about it enough to fight for it. I will concede the argument to the person who makes the best case with passionate flare.

So BYU > USU > Utah > BYU?
I'm so confused.....
Also, Baylor is a better team than Kansas State?

They beat us and did so soundly. Based on talent and reasonable expectation we are the worse team.
I'm not sure what game you're referring to. Utah beat us by a field goal. Due largely in part to us once again giving them the game through our own screw ups.

Sorry I see the last 2 utah BYU games as one long 2 part movie that has now run together in my mind.

Sorry pollsters don't agree with that logic - they look at season record and SOS as a whole. One game does not a season make unless you succumb to Yewt thinking.
