As far as I understand, his speech was delivered as written and was vetted by BYU in it's entirety before delivery.Did they know he was going to say that or did he go off topic? Again, that's not the place for that. Very selfish. Although I guess most valedictorian speeches are kind of beating the chest, aren't they? Look at me and my achievements! I went to my wife's graduation ceremony/speech, but did not go to mine for my B.S. or MBA. I don't even want to know what kind of "advice" they tried to give at Saint Louis University for my MBA graduation.BYU approved his speech. They knew what was in there. There's no rule against being a homosexual at BYU. There is against homosexual dating, other than that all the rules of behavior are exactly the same as heterosexuals. It seems like now this young man is trying to get a few extra minutes out of his 15.
