I had the pleasure of hosting Coach Pope for a 30-minute podcast session. A few topics we talked about included the following:
-How difficult it was to end the season without getting to play in the tournament. The seniors had put everything they had into making the NCAAT and was very challenging to have the year end like it did
-Never coached a team where players picked all the concepts up so quickly
-Having the top 3pt shooting team in the country
-First days on the job and getting the buy-in from everyone returning
-Transition from NBA player to medical school to college coaching
-Playing for Pitino and the 96 champs
