People have been complaining a lot about Slovis, but so far Retzlaff is showing that Slovis was doing pretty well considering the pieces he had to play with.

Most clear-headed people were counting this as a loss since the beginning of the season, so I’m happy for every Big 12 win we can get against those predictions. Regardless as to how BYU played to get there. With that said, I would REALLY like to stop seeing our offense get stymied at the random crit...

Most worrying stat: BYU's rush yards. KU's rush defense is not the stiffest we'll face.

Turnovers for touchdowns killing BYU right now. Good defense by KU in both cases, but also seems things aren't falling BYU's way for a lot of stuff this game. We're still in it though!

BYU wins it! And they looked good while doing it, in spite of the first two scores.

Our players look slow out there. I've never really believed in the idea of SEC speed, but the way our players are running, it's confirming whatever bias there may be to the idea.

Not much to say about this game, but even more disturbing than Slovis not syncing up with the receivers was how much our offensive line was being pushed around by Sam Houston. They are likely near the bottom for defenses we’ll face this year, hopefully we were just seeing a lot of first game problem...

I don't have a game-by-game prediction. My general prediction would be that BYU wins a couple of surprise games early, and loses some games they could or should have won later in the season, most likely because they are beat up from playing the tough schedule and not having enough depth at positions...

I was not expecting this win, and especially not the way it was won, with defense (generally, not the last series) and on a defensive play. Go cougs!
