Re: Reality check

One more point: while much has been made, rightfully, about dropped passes, just as disappointing is the inability of our wide receivers to get open. On so many plays Heaps simply has nowhere to go with the ball. This has to do with speed, strength, and effort.

Reality check--the gap is widening

There's no question our lack of offensive leadership (read: Robert Anae) is costing us games this season. No fire, no schemes, no adjustments. It's impossible to expect a true freshman quarterback to lead a team to wins when the coaching staff begins the year with a half-assed decision, continues tr...

Re: Something to keep in mind

I agree they are not world beaters. In fact, all were winnable games. I'm just pointing out that the three teams we lost to are winning lots of games and will likely be ranked tomorrow. They also all had experienced, dynamic QBs. Washington isn't great but they are certainly not one of the worst tea...

Something to keep in mind

The combined record of our opponents thus far is 11-4. Those four losses are to Oklahoma (twice), Nebraska, and us (Washington). It is likely that Nevada, Florida State and Air Force will be ranked tomorrow. That is a very tough way to open a season. Unfortunately, the light part of our schedule is ...

Re: Lose to a top ten opponent and...

Yeah, I can't complain since both losses were blowouts on our homefield (and one to a team with a losing record). If we would have been within a couple touchdowns we probably would have stuck in the Top 25, but oh well. We'll be back in by the time we play Utah.

Maybe we should put a TCU helmet on OUR equipment

I was worried about this game all week based on the lack of determination and passion coming from the team ("this isn't a revenge game," "we don't post quotes on the board," "we don't need to prepare any different," "these are pretty much the same teams as last yea...

Re: Why beating TCU COULD be good for the conference

I agree with this. The other (even better) scenario, of course, is that Boise State loses. Even though they have an easy schedule it's very hard to go undefeated. Even the best teams have off games. If they lose and BYU wins out, BYU is in, period. That's why it never makes sense to me when people s...
