House subcommittee approves legislation for playoff system
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4727426 I doubt this will get very far but I’m glad to see our paid government at least attempting to rectify the current injustice and ridiculousness of the current college football post season. My favorite comment made by one of the representatives: when...

Re: Aaaand...our Bowl contracts suck for yet ANOTHER reason!
"So the LV Bowl keeps producing matchups resulting in BYU winnig half of the time - and someon wants to itch about the quality of ouropponents. What do you want to do - lose 90% of the time." I'm not buying into this mentality. BYU seems to play to level that they perceive their opponent t...

Re: Would You Rather...
This is a tough one for me. I would have to go with option #1.
Even though I think BSU is the better team, beating USC always looks better on the resume.
But not to diminish how sweet it would be to pop BSU's balloon while they are riding high

Re: MWC expansion and tv contract
I also recognize, though, that there is a serious glass ceiling on tv ratings for a MWC sports channel. Most college football fans want to see their team play and maybe one or two other teams (like perhaps their teams rivals). So the vast majority of college football fans will not tune into a MWC fo...

Re: MWC expansion and tv contract
but where does the mountain go from here? We all see a need for the network to improve (a few more cameras, better cameramen, better announcers). How is this going to happen? the network isn't likely to shell out more money to improve these things until viewership increases. viewership isn't likely ...

Re: MWC expansion and tv contract
So as the MWC continues to succeed in gaining national respect, people need to be able to watch the games to even further recognition of the conference. From my perspective this will be done in 1 of 2 ways: 1. as the MTN further gains national respect by continually being invited to BCS games and wi...

Re: MWC expansion and tv contract
I didn't realize that each school signed the tv contract, I thought it was just the conference. So I guess that little idea is out the window. I love the MWC and am excited to see that it has grown into a more nationally respected conference. but we need more people to recognize it for the strong co...

MWC expansion and tv contract
If the MWC were to expand in order to get an autobid that would be great! But our tv contract is still a HUGE problem. Since we would be changing the conference, could we dissolve the conference altogether to form a new one where the slate is clean to get a new tv contract. Is this even possible? wo...
