Re: School of the prophets? Sorry long.
I am late on this topic but I thought I would give my thoughts about activity and people leaving. Over the past 15 years I have lived in the same city and stake. I have served in 3 EQ presidencies and in stake callings. I have noticed a huge trend of strong families leaving. On top of that I have ma...

Re: Reform the Code
As the husband of a woman who was raped while she was at BYU, I can tell you that there is a big issue at BYU. This rapist chose Provo because he knew how victims rarely come forward because of the shame that is prevalent on campus toward anything sexual and the knowledge that at the time women coul...

Re: Flake needs to never work in public office again. Not even dogcatcher.
I don't mind being a voice of dissent. As the husband of a rape survivor, I can tell you that my wife didn't tell me what happened until we were married more than a decade. She is in her mid forties and still cannot face the situation and talk about it. There are many of us who have family members, ...

Re: The "Mormon Moment" is officially over.
When people ask me what I am, I say Mormon. I don't want to be called a member of a mouthful of words. I know, I'm a heretic and I'm good with that. I am Mormon for good and for bad. The older I get the less I like stupid little things like this when the church is facing real problems of millennials...

Re: Prop 8 Revisited
This issue has been a very difficult one for me, many of my family members, and many of my friends. Growing up I saw many people I knew kicked out of their houses and asked to not come to church when they came out as having same sex attraction. That was in the early 90's. As a young newlywed I went ...

Re: Democratic Party = The True Fascists
I am sure that I will get ripped by people on here but as someone who has taught European history for many years, the modern coinage of Fascism comes from Mr. Benito himself. He didn't write the Doctrine Fascism until 1932 but he did promote many of the principles tying nationalism of Italy and usin...

Re: This Just In: Depression and Anxiety Special Edition
I haven't posted much on this site but have enjoyed reading everyone's posts over the past couple of years. I was very touched by what Tanner posted on his page. I have suffered from mild depression and anxiety for most of my life. Once I was able to recognize it for what it was I was able to take c...
