Re: California travel ban.
So what is the potential impact during the bowl season? Can we assume the ban would cover the coaches of California state schools since they are state employees? How many bowls are in Alabama, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas that have the potential ...

Re: P5's with no draftees
Virginia with 0? I believe I read last year in the draft that if someone wasn't selected from Virginia, it would have been the first time in many a year. I believe someone was, but now they've have the 2017 with zero selected. Bronco inherited a very mediocre team. Last time that happened was in 19...

Re: 2019 BYU @ Utah State bumped from conference weekend
I also like playing the instate schools but they have a responsibility to our SOS. If USU can't be a top 50 team then we should drop the game and find someone better. Using that logic, we shouldn't play ECU (#118), SJSU (#131), Fresno (#179), UNLV (#145), UMass (#141), and Hawaii (#104). The realit...

Re: Football and Title IX Bring Baylor to its Knees
I was an undergrad at BYU when Title IX became the law. If the federal bureaucrats have their way, Title IX could jeopardize more than sports. The feds said BYU was subject to Title IX because it received federal aid. BYU said it did not. It agreed that it did some contract work for the federal gov...

Re: BYU-Utah will be back on starting in 2017--in Provo
#1: The established big donors at the U didn't want to end the rivalry. Many in the state legislature were also angry about it and they include some of the folks in group #1. The only folks who wanted to end it were coach 80k and the most recent bandwagon jumper ute fans who in general don't donate...

Re: Big 12 Expansion at 15%
Would you still place the chance of expansion at 15% after the CCG announcement yesterday. I'd say the chances went up appreciably. 50% now? The Big 12 has been reluctant to expand. When TCU and WVU were added, they could have invited Louisville and another (BYU?) to bring membership back to 12. Wh...

Cost-cutting continues at ESPN and other networks.
What impact this will have on future bids for TV coverage is unknown, at this point. C-USA's new TV deal will pay them substantially less money then the previous contract. This may be simply a matter of them being a different (lesser) conference because of realignment, an indication that the network...

Re: The Baylor Finding of Facts report.
Full report cannot be released per federal law. Thank you. That explains subsequent articles, that I read, indicating that staffers on both the administration and the athletic department had been terminated or otherwise disciplined but the names and associated punishment would not be revealed. http...

The Baylor Finding of Facts report.
The bullet points in the press release do not do justice to how damning the report is. Repeatedly, the phrase "failed to" appears when referring to Baylor's approach to Titke IX, investigation of allegations, ensuring a safe environment etc. One of the few instances of proactive activity d...

Re: Football and Title IX Bring Bayor to its Knees
The culture that fostered a university-wide, systemic under-reporting, ignoring, cajoling or otherwise discouraging the reports of rapes/sexual abuses is what led to today's development. The days when the "good ole boy network" is able to hush things up because "boys will be boys"...
