Re: 5-year Extension for Coach Rose

A good tidbit from another article about his extension: "The [BYU] basketball program [under Coach Rose] has earned recognition from the NCAA for its high Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores over the past three seasons. In fact, BYU is one of only three men's basketball programs to earn APR re...

Re: Is the ACC reffing the Bradley Game

I'm not watching the game, (gamecasting, CBSsports) but the refs are either being ticky-tacky (which I hate) or BYU is being overly aggressive.

Let em play zebras.

Love that Idaho University (vandals) are taking it to utah right now. Basically game over, Idaho wins.

Re: TCU in the NC---playoff ramifications

If they win though, the pressure for the MWC to be included as a BCS auto-qualifying conference will be through the roof! Very true, though between the two I'd prefer a playoff over the MWC becoming a BCS conference. I have to agree that I'd rather see a playoff than the MWC being a BCS conference.

Re: Could you imagine this possibility?

My point was, BYU does not fire coaches without good cause. Not now. Crowton may have gotten away with forcing Bosco out, but that is not happening now, absent coach issues. Crowton also got to force Schmidt into retirement. Crowton also had to ask his assistant with drug and alcohol issues to walk...

Re: Quarterback Question

If Nelson is the QB next year, I think what you get is a Steve Young kind of QB. Nelson can pass the ball, but he can also run. Most of the really good QBs today can also run (McCoy, Tebow, Lefevour), it just adds a dimension that is more difficult to defend. I don't think Anae is saying he's going...

Re: Gary Crowton

And while we're on the topic (sort of): 2001 was one of my favorite seasons in a couple decades of watching Cougar Football. Every game was exciting and the play calling was ridiculously creative. I've always felt that Crowton took a slowly dying Cougar football team and performed beautiful CPR in ...

Re: The Collin Keoshian Highlight Video

That reminded me of 8th grade football where we had a kid who hit puberty when he was about 5. We would just hand him the ball and then start walking to the sideline.

Re: Could you imagine this possibility?

It is BYU, and Bronco did not get to pick his staff. I guarantee that they will not replace anyone, unless they leave on their own. BYU does not fire coaches. I can think of one assistant ever let go at BYU and it was Schmidt to hire Bronco. Oh wait sorry--he retired....Otherwise, it just does not ...

Re: Bronco conedes to O'Neil

THIS is why O'neil is one of my favorite players. I don't think anyone out there matches his drive. Every fumble he's had (that's I know of anyway) has been in an effort to get that extra yard. It's the same attitude that Max Hall has, he's a gunslinger and will force balls into places that are dan...
