A little bit of clarification on Pac-10 bowls
If Oregon beats Oregon St. tonight the USC/Arizona winner will play in the Holiday Bowl. Oregon St. will not play in the Sun Bowl again this year.

So, if Oregon St and Arizona both win, then we may have a legit shot at playing USC in Vegas?
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

It depends on what Cal does. If Cal wins then USC is going to the Poinsettia for sure. If Cal loses then the Vegas would choose between USC and Cal and obviously would take USC (at least I hope that would be obvious to the Vegas Bowl, you never know what they are thinking .)Schmoe wrote:So, if Oregon St and Arizona both win, then we may have a legit shot at playing USC in Vegas?

After they get their paycheck on either the 1st or the 15th...snoscythe wrote:When do the USC players vote to decide if they even want to go to a bowl game?

I just hope Arizona beats USC. I want to see BYU play--and beat--USC in a bowl game this year. Would love to beat OU and USC in the same year.

Exactly--in a year or so down the road when Barkley and Jones lead their respective teams to the national title game, it will be cool to be able to brag that BYU beat OU and USC in the same year. No one will remember that it was during their down years.Lawboy wrote:I just hope Arizona beats USC. I want to see BYU play--and beat--USC in a bowl game this year. Every once a while, I like to point out to my UT friends that BYU is 2-0 against the Longhorns, just like they're 2-0 against OU.

rasta, interesting article from norcal. I have to wonder about the source tho, hard to guarantee Arizona a Holiday Bowl berth even after getting past USC. I get the argument, but I still see Cal as the bigger draw. Plus, I could see to where if it's a push for the Holiday, they may work a deal with the Sun, if the sun wants Arizona as badly as you say they might (and would, if AZ beat USC).
The Az over USC and Cal over Wa is really the only scenario that doesn't more-or-less set in stone the Vegas bowl entrant tho.
Az and Wa wins guaranteed mean playing USC,
USC and Cal wins guaranteed mean playing OSU,
and USC and Wa wins guaranteed mean playing Cal.
Interesting.
