Taloa'i Ho Ching--Dec 7 anounce date
Apparently he is making his school choice on December 7, 2009. It is the anniversary date of the death of his little brother. Sounds as if BYU is after the kid hard, which I like to hear.

Sounds like a no-brainer. Especially with the talent level coming into BYU. the next 4-6 years are going to be fun.

I'm frankly shocked BYU still has an offer out to him. In fact, I'm still a little skeptical of it even. So I wouldn't be surprised to see him "choose" Wisconsin. He's certainly a good player and wouldn't be a waste of a scholarship. But we have already got quite a few LBs this class and appear to be set for the future. What's more, we have way more pressing needs for our remaining scholies like some JC safety help or a RB like Quezada.

Also, Quezada has narrowed down his list to either BYU or Utah.

If he wants to play running back (and play early), BYU is wide open with Harvey likely exploring the draft.
Shakerin and Wide are going to be entrenched at the U; and they don't have half the Oline that we do.

As we learned this year, you can never have too much depth at the LB position at BYU. You may think the guys coming in will be great, but no guarantees, so another body is awesome.

Isn't wide a junior?craigoscarson wrote:Mars wrote:

Yes, Wide is a junior and the incumbent next season.jonnylingo wrote:Isn't wide a junior?craigoscarson wrote:Mars wrote:

If Harvey leaves (which we all expect) then we have no incumbent; Quezada could play very early
Keep in mind with Ho Ching, if he plans on a mission, he's not going to have to complete with guys like Keoshian and Vannoy that don't have mission plans (or aren't LDS)
Having depth is huge and he would help ensure that. (rememeber Kaveinga has barely played at USC; even as a soph during one of their worst seasons in memory.. BCS teams stock up on depth, even if it means keeping 4 star athletes like Kaveinga and Havili down on the depth chart-- I mentioned this earlier, Havili will finish his USC career this season with less than 300 rushing yards for his career!!
He would have been a centerpiece here. I hope Quezada realizes this when he makes his decision, because I believe he also can be a centerpiece type of back. He brings a little of everything and is more complete than any guy we have in our arsenal right now.
