This could be a bit tougher than I was giving them when I saw their record.
I note the common opponents:

Texas State 48, UTSA 51 (in double OT)
Texas State 17, Troy 37.

BYU 27, UTSA 20
BYU 48, Troy 7

Texas State was tied with #16 SMU in the third quarter and only lost by a single score, 24-31.

So, Texas State could compete with us, just as UTSA did...but BYU could also beat them by 40 points. Depends on which teams show up, how the schemes matchup, and how the ball bounces. BYU wins on paper. But it's the proverbial "that's why they play the game" type of game.
Maybe a better question is - "what coaches show up"?
But, UH game showed that the current staff CAN make some changes, which is good.

To be able to watch the game without commercials, I DVR'd it, checking in on it constantly on ESPN. When the game ended, I began to watch it. Trouble was it was getting late and I was sleepy. I thought there was only 2 minutes left in the game when I fell asleep and decided that I knew they had won, but I'd watch the last 2 minutes in the next day or two.

Then, I'm reading on here and Cougar Board about the fake punt and I'm thinking, "What, they did a fake punt in those last 2 minutes? Wow, that would be pretty callus." Then I start watching those last 2 minutes and here it was only the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter and I had not yet seen the 4th. I wondered why everyone was so down on Rod Gilmore and it wasn't until I watched the 4th quarter that I witnessed what everyone was so riled up about what he had said.

After now viewing the fake punt, what in the HELLO was Rehkow thinking? It does seem obvious, by KS's reaction, that this was not sent in from the sidelines, but wasn't too great of a decision.

Nice play and he was coached to do that but save if for a game where it would count.

Yeah. Now every punt the receiving team will be geared up to watch and it will be hard to surprise anyone. That's half the success of the play.
