BYU and USF extend football series through 2023

PROVO, Utah — Brigham Young University and the University of South Florida today announced a two-game extension of their football series through 2023.

The additional two-game series will see BYU facing USF at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, and the Bulls coming to LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023.

Already scheduled to play in LaVell Edwards Stadium in 2021, the Cougars and Bulls first met in 2019 with South Florida defeating BYU, 27-23, at Raymond James Stadium, home to this year’s Super Bowl.

The 2022 schedule now has 6 home games (Baylor, Wyoming, Utah State, Arkansas, Dixie State, and East Carolina) and 5 road games (USF, Oregon, Liberty, Boise State, Stanford). One more road game is needed to complete the schedule.

The 2023 schedule is now complete with 6 home games (Tennessee, Rice, Boise State, USF, UNLV, and Southern Utah) and 6 road games (Virginia, Utah State, Arkansas, Fresno State, UCF, and USC) and a bye in week 7 on October 14.

I'd be okay with a 7th home game in 2022 instead of a roadie. Not sure there's any reason why we have to have 6 of each.

Yep, Utah replaced BYU in 2022-2023 with games @ Florida and vs Florida. Their OOC games round out with home games with SDSU and Southern Utah in 2022 and Weber State at home and Baylor on the road in 2023.
