Wow, what a week of ups and downs in the Coach's poll.

Honestly, I hadn't looked at Sagarin this season and am very surprised to see that we are way up at #24 at 5-0. Sagarin definitely doesn't appear to like PAC12 too much as we've not beaten 3 P5's in a row and gotten so little bounce.

Where did we start out the season with them?

One thing I don't like about being ranked #10 when I don't believe we're that good is that it puts a larger target on our backs for our opponents. Boise will be hell-bent in trying to knock off a "Top-10" team this Saturday, while we need to convince our team to not get a swollen head.

Sagarin was pretty low. It was 95 if you can believe that.

I used to love the statistical or mathematical polls, but now I just don't know. Before the USU game we were in the 40s and that just didn't "feel" right. Some teams will have similar SOS and records but be way far apart in the Sagarin rankings. I have to keep telling myself that the Sagarin rankings aren't "who is the best team so far" but instead "who would most likely win a future game." They're two different things.

I really hope that this coaching staff doesn't take a day off and think that we can start cruising now. Like others have said we'll have a target on our backs now so if anything we need to work harder.a
