Here's the list from that article:

Kevin Clune | BYU Linebackers - my least favorite. I don't want anyone on the current defensive coaching staff, please.
Jay Hill | Weber State Head Coach
Jason Kaufusi | Arizona DEs & OLBs
Rocky Long | New Mexico Defensive Coordinator
Frank Maile | Boise State Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line
Shaun Nua | USC Defensive Line - my top pick. Former Coug who went out and got real coaching experience.
Derrick Odum | San Jose State Defensive Coordinator

My top five in order: 1. Frank Maile 2. Shaun Nua 3. Jason Kaufusi 4. Spencer Danielson 5. Ephraim Banda

Jay Hill is my #1 choice to replace Kalani Sitake as head coach.

Whatever DC we end up getting, I just really want to see a more exciting defense. Even when Tuiaki's defense was working as intended, it was so boring to watch. No one enjoys watching it, and I would venture to guess that players don't enjoy playing in it.

Shaun Nua is my fav, but Frank Maile is close 2nd. I wonder if Lance Anderson can find his way over here with the shuffle at Stanford. I think Nua knows what a Big12 defense will need to be like.

After following Bronco Mendenhall to Virginia and then moving to Boise State after the Mendenhall staff was replaced, it looks like Kelly Poppinga is taking SOME position at BYU again.

This is odd though. If he's not the new DC and just a position coach, wouldn't the new DC be announced first and that person gets to pick the position coaches?

Yes, it is weird. There must be things going on outside the public eye and we are waiting for public announcements. That would be my guess.

So I'm hearing that BYU wanted Shaun Nua either as DC or as a position coach, but since he is an inactive LDS BYU will not sanction his hire per new Church employee policy that requires virtually any church employee to be a temple card carrying member. If you are non-LDS you need an ecclesiastical endorsement from your local religious leader. So an inactive LDS or even an active LDS but without a temple recommend would have to get their name removed from church records and they would have a better chance at getting hired at BYU. I know that the church should not be run by sports, but this will severely limit our coaching pool candidates.
