Re: Utah State
Utah State finished #23 in the RPI last year, and return the large bulk of that team this season. To call them "mediocre" is to ignore reality. It's always bad losing, but this wasn't a bad loss.

And why not? We didn't think Jackson Emery would injure his foot in a freak practice accident either.CougarClaw wrote: but we did think we were better than them.
Bottom line, we missed our shot to beat those guys head-to-head. Now we gotta sweep the Ute team that beat them.
Let's revisit this at the end of the season and see which team is sitting prettier nationally...

Re: Utah State
There have been a lot of teams "better" than USU that have lost in the spectrum. Home court advantage is HUGE in college ball (pro and high school ball for that matter too but college in particular).ABYUFAN wrote:And we don't think we're mediocre either...CougarClaw wrote:but we did think we were better than them.Mars wrote:

P.S.
Utah State lost at home last night.
BYU just might not be all their cracked up to be. They have looked great against the cupcakes they have played, but they sure struggled against a so-so USU team. I think this is a bigger problem than just pride-cycle.

Re: Utah State
Well, it's no mystery that BYU fans tend to overhype their team a bit too early in the season sometimes (see: BYU football 2008 and 2009)
Hopefully the game was a fluke and our boys take it to Arizona St.
