Re: Our Starting 5
Very fair prediction. I think Rose either goes with line up or:
Jimmer
Emery
Tav
Hartsock
Miles
Jimmer
Emery
Tav
Hartsock
Miles

Re: Our Starting 5
It's the back-ups that get tricky. We are deep and everyone wants as many minutes as Rose can spare for them.
I think Hartsock backs Abou, and Anderson backs Miles as our two biggest subs. But then Rose also has the option of switching many guys around from 2-3 positions against certain teams. It's a tough year to be coach, BECAUSE of the talent though, instead of DESPITE it.

Re: Our Starting 5
The tough decision becomes if you start your five very best players, or if you play maybe three of your best with two solid guys so you can have a strong bench coming in and keep the same intensity of play. That is, if you can determine for sure who the five best players even are.
I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

I hope Rose does switch it around a bit depending on what teams we play. That's something we could use a bit more of and as you point we could actually do it this season without a huge drop off in production.
Too much talent is a problem I'm glad we have.

I don't think it is too difficult to decide- if you're name isn't Fredette and you aren't giving max effort on D then you will be on the bench. We have too many good players at every position.

I found it interesting that Abou was named the defensive MVP of the Blue-White scrimmage.Qman wrote:I don't think it is too difficult to decide- if you're name isn't Fredette and you aren't giving max effort on D then you will be on the bench. We have too many good players at every position.

Hmm I hadn't heard that. Maybe he will get big minutes this year. I just hope he has improved on offense.

Re: Our Starting 5
Last season I kind of liked Abouo's defense better than Emery's.

Emery always struck me as a more of an intellectual defender. He knows the scouting report and forces players into help or low percentage shots.Gunk wrote:Last season I kind of liked Abouo's defense better than Emery's.
Abouo seemed to be more a physical marvel. He is just strong and very quick.
