Is he going to be the next "round mound of rebound"?

Is Barcello as efficient as Fredette?

Don’t have stats in front of me but I don’t recall Jimmer being all that efficient, but could light it up when he was on. I bet Barcello is more efficient than Jimmer.

Traore is amazing when you realize he’s only 6’ 6”

Also, is this a super coincidence or a glitch, but it says nuk13 and I joined CC the same day in 2009. What are the odds?

That's interesting. I like your posts too.

Barcello's shooting is going to have to come back down to earth. But right now he is playing at an unbelievable level. And Barcello is much more efficient than Jimmer.

Traore quick movements and reactions are the biggest surprise to me. If he develops and gets down to 240 he looks like an NBA prospect.

Barcello is currently scoring 73.2% of all possible points (PAP). He also has a true shooting (TS) percentage of 89.5%.

For some comparison. Here are previous years, for which I have data, with the leaders in PAP // TS%:
20-21: Barcello & Haarms 55.8% // Barcello 64.0%
19-20: Childs 56.2% // Childs 64.7%
18-19: Baxter 62.8% // Baxter 77.0%
17-18: Childs 54.7% // Nixon 68.0%
16-17: Mika 58.7% // Mika 60.5%
15-16: Davis 55.5% // Seljaas 69.3%
14-15: Haws 52.9% // Haws 60.0%
13-14: Mika 54.9% // Haws 58.5%
12-13: Davies 55.5% // Haws 58.7%
11-12: Hartsock 60.1% // Hartsock 63.7%
10-11: Davies 56.1% (Jimmer 50.3%) // Jimmer 60.1%
09-10: Haws 55.5% // Emery 65.3%
08-09: Cummard 55.4% // Cummard 62.2%
07-08: Cummard 59.0 // Cumamrd 69.5%

Some may hate me for saying this, but Jimmer was not very "efficient." He was a ball hog who needed to shoot in volume in order to get into a shooting rhythm. He was very fun to watch and with that roster at that time having a ball hog who could score and even sometimes will our team to win was what we needed. But he had a lot of missed shots. Jimmer's senior season he shot 45.2% FGs and 39.6% 3FGs. Not horrible, but not what I'd call lights out. What helped him really was his ability to draw a foul and make free throws. He averaged 7.6 FTAs at 89.4%.

Sometimes I wished that Barcello would shoot more. Last season he shot 52.3% FGs and 47.7 3FGs. I'd say that makes him a better "shooter" than Jimmer, but not necessarily a better scorer. He had 3.6 FTAs at 85.6%. So far this season he is 70.3% FGs, 60.0% 3FGs, and 4.5 FTAs at 100%. Wow!

And Traore really is rebounding like someone 3-4 inches taller than he actually is. And he's just a freshman. Amazing!
