Sure Leach would coach here, so long as no head coach job is available any where else and BYU paid him more $$ than there is to be had. Oh and did I mention that when a HC is available he's outta here?

Yeah, I agree. As much as I 'd love to see him running the offense at BYU (yes, he is somehow connected to the LDS church btw--not sure of the strength of that attachment), I think his "if the circumstances were right" comment was implying he would have to be the HC.Lawboy wrote:Not gonna happen. His next job will be as a head coach. Arizona is a great fit, too.

But the fact that he did say he would definitely be open to the idea was interesting to me. But Bronco has probably convinced himself that he's already got the best offensive coordinator in the world, so it doesn't matter much anyways.

I'm not sure how much I like Leach as a person (from what I have seen), but I LOVE his offense. I used to really enjoy watching Texas Tech games with Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree just because of how much I like a good passing attack. Not sure how well it would work at BYU though.

Not even close.superchargedcougar wrote:This may be extremely ignorant of me, but is Leach a Mormon? Why did BYU even come up?
Well, he used to be, he did his undergrad at BYU, was raised Mormon, but has since drifted well away from the Church.
Still, we've had quite a few non-mormon coaches, why not bring in an ex-mormon? As long as he's not HC, what's the diff? Do non-mormon coaches have to give up drinking or sign the honor code?

The better idea than getting Leach is picking up Andy Reid. I'd be worried about his job if I was him going 1-4 with the team that he has. We could have both Bronco and Doman move down. Bronco could be defensive coordinator and fireside director and Doman could be QB coach. Reid would be head coach and offensive coordinator. Start the rumors.

More realistically, former U OC Sanford who was HC at UNLV then OC at Louisville was fired mid-season, apparently. He is available, ties to the State, willing to work cheap.Wickchad84087 wrote:The better idea than getting Leach is picking up Andy Reid. Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.
