Carlino probably cushioned his fall a little so he didn't break his neck.

It was either all ball or seen that way. Contact was minimal if any - maybe hand and ball.Sammich wrote:Does anyone know why no foul was called on BYU for that play? I don't remember which player made contact with Cyphers, but I thought for sure there'd be a foul call and I was surprised when there wasn't.
It was his attemp to grab the rim from too far under the rim at too fast a speed that flipped him up and over.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

yeah, there was no contact on the way to the rim. Nothing that should be called a foul anyway. Just an unfortunate event. Didn't look good when it first happened though.

someone reported 6-12 stitches and walked out of the MC under his own power. Should be fine except for a headache.nuk13 wrote:Is there any report on how he is doing?

Wasn't being indignant towards you, Sammich, if it read that way.

I watched the replay multiple times, and it looked like there was no contact at all until he glanced against Carlino on the way down. I agree that if he hadn't hit Carlino, he probably would have ended up completely head-first. It looked like he intended to hang on the rim but his hand slipped.

indeed.tmoney35 wrote:BlueIsBetter wrote:Uh, because Carlino didn't touch him at all...He fell into Carlino, after the dunk.
When dunking, it is a bad idea to let go of the rim when your hands are on an even plain with your feet. He was out of control and bounced off of Carlino on the way down.
If you wanted a foul, you'd better give it to "gravity" on that one.
Just because someone gets hurt doesn't mean that a foul happnened
I concur
