Lose to a top ten opponent and...
So if you lose to a Top ten team you drop atleast 11 spots in the polls and are out of the top 25?...I guess if you are not a AQ team you do.

...and Central Michigan is getting more votes from the coaches than BYU? Fluke or not we did beat OU this year and one of our loses is to a top 10 program.

Re: Lose to a top ten opponent and...
...So with that rational...USC should be out of the top 25 with their next loss, right? I mean after all their one loss is to Washington, so even with a loss to a ranked team they will be out of the top 25 completely, right? The bias is unbelievable.
...and if you disagree with me do you sincerely think 25 teams are better than BYU day in and day out? Yeah, the loss last night stings but we are better than some teams still in the Top 25.

In defense of the voters, we lost embarrassingly....twice....at home. I can't blame them.

Agreed and understood...but we are still better than some of the other teams that are in the top 25...maybe apart of it is just what you stated----frustration at two blowout losses at HOME.Metallicat wrote:In defense of the voters, we lost embarrassingly....twice....at home. I can't blame them.

Oh well, I'm only in it for the football now. Top 25 means nothing if you're in the MWC. Yeah, I can't complain since both losses were blowouts on our homefield (and one to a team with a losing record). If we would have been within a couple touchdowns we probably would have stuck in the Top 25, but oh well. We'll be back in by the time we play Utah.

I agree it's unfair to leave some of these teams in the top-25 while dropping BYU out, but the wrongdoing is in leaving those teams in, not dropping BYU out. Right now BYU doesn't belong in the top 25---maybe if they win out the rest of their games they belong back in, but right now the ranking is correct.
It is stupid that BCS teams get so much more leeway though, especially after similarly bad losses to other teams in the top-25 (see Ohio State last year).

At least we did not lose to a Purdue or a Div II team. That woud really hurt. But then losing in a blow out hurts a lot too.
