I just feel more comfortable here. I do admit its hard not to look at the other sites. It's nice to stay caught up. I Just need to stop reading all the comments following the original posts, and the posts that have the anti ute logo.That's where I get irritated.

Hey Jamie. I am glad you are here. CougarCorner is my home. I visit the other sights, but I live here. I don't post a whole lot, but I read what my firends have to say every day.

Yeah, it's almost exactly how Scott described it, like a click group. If you're not one of them then, you don't really belong. I'm not searching for a place because I need to feel like I belong, but honestly, while it's not probably healthy, I've let sports become a part of my life. I enjoy, watching my Cougss, and buckeyes. Especially my Cougs! and getting invested in these teams, and while it makes loosing suck and it's heartbreaking, it just makes the big wins that much better when they happen.

That's why I like being here, with people that are much more level headed. Basically TulaneVandyRIceCoug, almost everything you said describes exactly how I feel about the difference in being here, rather than there.

Johnny Lingo, it's alright brother! I'm down with some anti-ute posts here and there, I just didn't like how about 70% of what has been posted on CB as of late, has been exactly that. And I know... it's a slow time, but like somebody posted on here about a week ago, BYU fans should not in any way use the U as a measuring stick for our sports programs.

Last I'd just like to thank everyone for being so welcoming on this site. I can't even imagine if I posted something even remotely like this on Cougar Board, what type of response or welcoming I would get... I think it would be pretty bad. haha! I'd have half the people telling my I'm a Ute troll, and the other half would be swinging my words in a way making me feel like I'm a self-righteous soap box preacher, with a holier than thou attitude, also probably a select few wondering what my sources are, and why I didn't use boardmail to seem more legit.

Sorry if I've rambled on a bit, but I truly have appreciated your responses. And a big thank you to Mars for inviting me to this site!

I hear you. Sometimes I make a post there and get completely run out. I come over here and make the identical, or nearly identical, post and expect to get the same response. Much to my surprise everyone actually read all of what I wrote, thought about it, and then gave an insightful response.

I do like that there is a lot more traffic there, but Cougar Corner has the corner on quality.

My two beefs with CB are the awful geneology-style format and the sheer volume of crap. There's good stuff on there, but you just get worn down trying to find it between the format and people fighting over who was the better AP or who has the better looking wife.

I much prefer our format here, and the smaller group. Yeah, with the smaller group we are sometimes behind the curve on breaking news, but the fact that pretty much everyone is a familiar face helps you weed through stuff. I can say "Oh, that's just Ddawg being Mongo" and I don't take it seriously. The downside of the smaller community are the personal spats that flare up from time to time, mostly in the off-seasons or after the losses that tend to drag on, but they usually calm themselves down.

To each their own.

Take any topic and cross-breed it with BYU football, and BAM, there's your insight: dodgeball, LARP (wait..what??), passing out in the JSB bathroom with my pants down, North Carolina forestry services, the tv show The Americans, subdural hematomas, and, uh, gardening. There, if you want to know about any of these things, I'm your man (or maybe I'm not a man, this is online communication, after all, you don't know who or what I am). My postings tend to gravitate toward these off-topics, which I shall continue to post in the future ever the more boldly.
