I think 2 Texas tickets cost us about $220. Good for BYU.
Of course, I'll be taking my kids to the MTSU and ISU games instead.

Re: Insane Ticket Prices
IMHO.......
BYU should charge whatever people are willing to pay and can afford. While I do feel bad if a true fan can't afford tickets to a game, if 65,000 other fans can afford the high-priced tickets.......then BYU should sell to those fans and make every effort to ensure that the other fans can watch the game on TV.
Wait...
That's....
Exactly....
What.....
They've....
Done.....
Now, as for the issue of honoring someone at half-time and not giving that someone and his/her family at least half a dozen tickets -- that's just flat out lame. I'm really sorry to hear about that. Sorry for the people who are being 'honored' and dishonored at the same time. And Sorry for whoever it is at BYU that made that decision and is obviously a tool.

Re: Insane Ticket Prices
I saw this dead horse by the road, and I thought to myself "I'd kinda like to beat that for a while."
BYU football tickets are soooooo cheap compared to other schools. We all claim to want to be like the big boys, yet we don't want the whole package -- just some a la carte big name games, national rankings and respect.
It doesn't work like that guys. If you want to be mentioned in the same sentence as teams on our schedule, like Texas and ND and Wisconsin then BYU has to play the game the way they do, both on and off the field (except for the cheating part). That means BYU needs $$$$$$. A LOT of $$$$$. And BYU needs to get that $$$$ from TV partners, from overpriced shirts in the Bookstore, from donors, from Cougar Tail
, and from market value ticket prices. If your station in life is such that the success of BYU football has priced you out of the stadium then life sucks but that is the life of competitive sports and its sure a lot better than the alternative of paying $29 for a WAC conference game.
As for having some subsidized seats for special groups (like students) that is actually easily accomplished by simply requiring ID at the gate. This is what I had to do at Michigan when entering the stadium with a student ticket. I could buy student season tickets for about $400 I think it was. That was a phenomenal price. And to discourage students from just buying tickets to sell, they required student ID to accompany student tickets. So maybe legacy seat folk could get a legacy ID card to go along with cheap tickets to keep them from selling them. Because the truth is the BYU SHOULD MAKE THE PROFIT on ticket sales since the item for sale is BYU's. If a ticket is worth $500 then BYU should sell it for $500 -- not for $200 to some tool who just wants to turn around and pocket the extra $300.
Now, with that said I was at Michigan when Ohio St was #1 and Michigan was #2 and I had tickets to the game. Student tickets. What did I do? I sold them of course!!! for $1,200 and bought a big phat TV and watched the game at home on my new enormouse TV that I got to keep for every game thereafter. Turns out Michigan lost, so it was a great move by me. I was fortunate and found some buyers that had 'access' to student ID so they could use the tickets. Otherwise I never could have sold them for that much. I'm pretty sure the fake ID racket in southeastern Michigan had more business for student ID that year than it did for over 21 drivers licenses.

I feel a sale coming on. If we play this poorly next week - fire sale.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

Yes. And your prognostications will be vindicated; as will my vote against joining a BCS conference because BYU will replicate what Utah is experiencing the past two years. losing seasons.Cougarbib wrote:I feel a sale coming on. If we play this poorly next week - fire sale.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,
