If anyone thinks it is not. Then post here which one is. Hint, only Detmer's Senior season comes close. Not much cake this year.

Other than that - no - BYU is not at all likely to get a BCS Bowl. It could happen if we win out and a number of upsets occur. Not likely.

BCS talk needs to stop, agreed.

This is not the toughest season and not close. BYU plays quality programs but they are all struggling or having off years. UT is down, BSU is down, WI is a quality team but not top 10 and ND is down. Utah stinks, UVA stinks, GT stinks, USU is missing their QB who did not play most of the game, Houston is average. On paper preseason it looked tough, but the season will likely end with zero top 10 opponents. If BYU had a top team this year every game would be very winnable, no huge upsets needed to win every game. No top teams on the schedule this year, for me that means it is difficult to qualify as the toughest schedule.

91 was tougher, as was 93, 96, 04 (USC won the championship and Utah won a BCS game), potentially 85. Those are top of mind. I look at the number of games that were nearly unwinnable. This year is shaping up to be average by top program standards. We should have won every game to date. Plus we had several gimme games.

One good team does not a season make.

I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy,
I can't afford a car, I use public transportation,
I don't mind, I read till I reach my destination,
sometimes a newspaper, sometimes a book,
the money I save, this stuff is off the hook,

No it does not, but to be the toughest schedule in history it must include one top team.

based on final rankings:

91 - Florida State (5), Penn State (3), UCLA (19)
93 - ND (2), Ohio State (11), UCLA (18)
94 - Utah (10), Colorado State (16)
03 - USC (1), Utah (21)
04 - USC (1), Utah (4), Boise State (12)

I would argue all these years were more difficult years based on several tough games. This year (as shown above is full ob average teams or good/great programs having down years). As or now there are to ranked teams on the schedule that we have not finished playing.

Not saying this year was easy by any means but to compare to 91, 93 or 04.....well no comparison.

No. Sure - you have 2 guaranteed losses those years. Maybe 3 in two of those years. Then you eat cake and coast to 11-2 or 9-3.

Home vs Away matters a lot, too. Like today.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

91, 93, and 2004 do have tougher individual games. But way more cake.

And, even a blind squirrel can catch a nut and lightening in a bottle. Utah Stanford.

Do not be shocked if Wisconsin, ND, Texas, and maybe even Houston end up ranked with a little good fortune.

I hope ND is top 10, but don't see it. :)

I don't agree. Outside of WI, ND and UT the rest of the schedule is on par with past WAC/MWC schedules. CSU, Wyoming (90's), Utah, AFA or Fresno generally had a good season every few years easily on par with this years BSU or Houston (rest of 2013 schedule is weak). This is a good schedule on paper (based on top historical programs) not results.

Again, not saying this year is an easy schedule just not toughest. Imagine is you swapped UT or ND for Florida State and Oregon....would be tougher.

Either way we are not close to where we should be or we would be undefeated.

The BCS Talk should subside quickly now.

BYU is a good team. Fun to watch. Not BCS worthy this year.
