Well played sir!
This. Two evenly matched teams all season. Close games home and away. Tied for 2nd place. Overtime on the neutral floor. USF is steadier. Does not lose to bad teams. Does not beat better teams. BYU volatile. Hot and cold. Wins games they should lose on occasion, but loses games they should win at least as often.

Nice call by the Wolfman on the margin of victory. But the points - not so much. SF tried to run with us in game 1 but clamped it down in game two and has been emphasizing defense and rebounding on their hot streak of usually low scoring games.

Anae just might be the guy. Wisconsin DC says Anae is totally unpredictable because he just runs a bunch of plays with no rhyme or reason. Whooped Butt on Houston DC for 3 of 4 quarters. Destroyed Texas DC and HC careers.

Thanks Spiff - I get a lot of crap on here, so it's nice when I get a compliment, especially after a prediction like this. :)

By the way, I think the Cougs get the Zags tonight in another close one, 75-70. It's just too bad that they won't get a seed any higher than 10 for the tourney which means one and done.

Both teams are in the dance now. Another plus for BYU getting in is that they play an entertaining style that tv will love in the tournament. Those losses to top teams were close. Yes we lost but were in every one of them. We will get in. http://www.bracketmatrix.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has us in on 83 of 94 brackets before we won last night.

The 4 bad losses in conference and only winning 2 of the 7 games that mattered in non-conference play will be a factor for the NCAA selection committee. Now, if they win tonight, which I think they will, there is no debate with an automatic bid, but if they lose, they will have to rely on other teams' not doing enough to get in. They are actually in a win-win situation... if they lose tonight and don't make the tourney, they will for sure be a top seed in the NIT, but if they do get in on selection Sunday, they accomplished a goal and are in the big dance!

It's OK buddy... we'll just wager a bragging rights bet. $1,000... man, you're incensed over the thought that they won't get in if they win tonight and then lose in the WCC final aren't you? There are a lot of other NCAA tourney experts out there who don't think BYU is in unless they win the WCC tournament, mainly because there are too many other schools that would be on the bubble if they fell early in their conference tourneys who are more deserving. Of course, a loss tonight and it's all over.

The WCC commish is on the selection team and BYU played the #2 toughest non-con schedule in the country with most of those big games away from the MC.

BYU played 7 non-conference games that mattered and won 2 of them... the NCAA selection committee won't exactly consider that impressive.

The RPI is the committee go to and the one they use on CBSsports.com (CBS being the tourney channel)... They could care less about sagarin...

Sagarin has the most reality-based system for determining rankings.

Also Joe Lunardi has been darn near perfect the last few years and is dialed in and says BYU is in.

Mark Durrant said this morning on 1280 the Zone he thinks the Cougs have to win the WCC tournament to get in. If Cougs win tonight, we'll find out on Sunday if they lose to the Zags tomorrow.
WRONG AGAIN.... go piss in someone's cheerios that might think you know anything (anything....) about sports. You have no credibility here... zero.. Saved yourself $1,000 by tucking your tail between your legs and running later. I was certain that the Cougs would not only get in, but they would be rewarded for their schedule... and I was right.

Our SOS is 43 our RPI is 34 and will be sub30 if we win tonight.

Our noncon SOS was #2 in the country... that's why we get in..... RESPECT FOR NON CON SCHEDULING

Utahs noncon SOS was about #220 and overall #100...

The selection committee likes teams that take on tough noncons and play road games... they have penalized teams in the recent past that didn't.

If BYU wins this game tonight, they're in and because of our talent, we won't be worse than a 10 regardless of the championship game... that's what you get when you play tough teams in the noncon... they also like teams that are improving and this BYU team is on a roll.

BTW in the last 10 years, only 4-5 teams with an RPI better than 32 haven't gotten in and most of them had a sub .500 record in their conference
"won't be worse than a 10 regardless of the championship game..." nailed it...

No one's worthy. You are the only one who called this! Impressive but somehow not surprising. All others are pretenders.

CraigO has experience in D1 basketball. He knows more than all of us. I would never disagree with his assessments. I did not think we would do this well. Now go and skewer a Duck. Don't tell my daughter who goes to school there. I texted her to see if she wanted to go. Half joking since she and I are in finals this week. No response from her yet.
