Re: Men's Lacrosse 2015
In a game that was much closer than it should have been, the No. 5 Cougs emerge victorious at home, beating No. 19 UMD 10-8.
Six different BYU players scored, including two goals each for Fabrizio, Arbon, Bertha, and Stevens. However, the boys in blue had trouble staying out of the naughty box, giving the Bulldogs a chance to hang around and keep it close all game long. BYU's largest lead all day was only three goals, but they held on long enough for the win.
Up Next: The No. 5 Cougars (0-0, 7-1) have rattled off seven straight victories after stumbling out the gate vs SDSU. They'll look to continue that streak with a quick turnaround to take on Arizona in Las Vegas on Monday.

Re: Men's Lacrosse 2015
BYU allows the No. 8 Wildcats the first goal in their battle in Las Vegas, but uses a four-goal run kicked off by Fabrizio (two from Arbon, one from Bertha), to take a 4-1 lead. But Arizona isn't ranked in the top ten for no reason, and the Wildcats battle back and narrow the gap to 5-3 at the half.
In the second half, the Cougars look like they'll run away with it when they score two quick goals, balooning their lead to 4 at 7-3. But lacrosse is a game of runs and Arizona tallies two goals of their own. A late Fabrizio goal would give the Cougs the 8-5 advantage going into the break.
The fourth quarter is a back-and-forth affair, with the teams trading goals a couple times and neither able to gain the momentum. Arizona finds their mojo late and buries two quick goals to close the gap to one, 10-9 with just over two minutes left to play. But BYU gets the ball and uses a couple late timeouts to strategize and bleed away the remaining time for the 10-9 victory!
Next up: The No. 5 Cougars (0-0, 8-1) have a nice ten-day break before travelling across the valley to Orem to take on UVU (1-2, 2-4) in the battle for Utah County supremacy.

The Cougars move up to #2 in the latest MCLA poll. The only team above them? A Grand Canyon team with the same record that BYU beat 15-11.

BYU hits the gas against cross-valley opponent UVU, 23-8. They'll have another tune-up game at home tomorrow vs. winless Washington State and then travel to Logan next Thursday to stomp on Utah State.

No, they stopped letting head coaches play in high school games a couple years back (and if you'd seen me anytime over the past six years, it would be pretty obvious I'm no longer playing )scott715 wrote:Will Schmoe play? What's the chance he will get ejected?
The chances of me getting ejected at that particular game, I'm hoping, are slim-to-none.
In Cougar lacrosse-related news, BYU coasts by WSU 24-1.
