Totally agree. Final question. How about compared to 06 to 15?

Only after the injuries happened and it was obvious that BYU had no chance of a good year. Which was about after the Utah State game which I believe was the 5th or 6th game.frdbtr wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 5:04 pmI will forget last years "fluke" when this coaching staff proves it was a fluke. I think 13 points is very generous for Arizona. I pick BYU to win it by 13+. frdbtr you need to forget last years fluke and move on.

Your "injuries" excuse fails to explain the 20-6 season opener against lowly Portland State to open the season.
The Cougarettes could have fielded 11 girls to play both sides of the ball and won by more than 14.
The warning klaxons were wailing after the first half of football for BYU last year, and then they immediately went to New Orleans and never crossed the 50.
If it took you 3 or 4 more games to figure out that BYU was going to be a suckfest in 2017, your opinion means squat because you're delusional.

You are right. I was hoping that Ty had held back the offense, he said that he didn't and he was right. It was obvious from game 1 that the team was not going to be good. I hoped that they would snap out of it at some point but as the losses piled up, they just kept quitting and it got more and more embarrassing. I don't buy this injury argument one bit.snoscythe wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 10:16 pmYour "injuries" excuse fails to explain the 20-6 season opener against lowly Portland State to open the season.

Re: BYU Opens as 13 point underdog to AZ
After the USU game BYU was 1-4 with 7 games left. They weren't going going to have a great year, no, but they still had the chance to go bowling. And that's with the easy part of the schedule remaining. No; injuries were definitely a factor, but it was the coaching that failed to light or keep lit a fire under the team to keep them engaged. You can't tell me that those other teams didn't also have their share of injury on the back half of the season. Saying that our scrubs << their scrubs is neither consolation nor a sufficient explanation. A poorly adapted scheme and "aw-shucks, it's OK fellas!" motivation are also to blame. And I love Ty Detmer and his family (his daughter gave hospice care for my mother in her last few months).TheDean wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 9:03 pmOnly after the injuries happened and it was obvious that BYU had no chance of a good year. No offense intended. I'm not disagreeing with you. The phrasing was funny that is all.
