They also are no where near the team they were last year. I read up on their season expectations and who've they've played so far this year and they are an above average team. That's it.

Take aways from the game:
- Zac Wilson injured his right hand/arm on the last interception (getting in on the tackle).
- Jaren Hall looked good in a situation where he had to come in and throw the ball downfield in a hurry. Showed he can but a couple decisions were tough--couldn't finish the game-tying drive.
- Offense was terrible in converting 3rd/4th and short (5/15 on 3rd down, 0-2 on 4th down).
- Defense was jeckyl/hyde from the 1st half to the 2nd half. Kept the edge and slowed Toledo in the first half. Let Toledo do whatever they wanted in the 2nd half.

A huge setback. Blaine Fowler said it best--as big as beating USC was in moving the team forward, the Toledo loss sets them back. BYU looked like an average G5 team today.

It was a team loss ... offense couldn't score, stalled in plus territory, etc. Defense choked in the 2d half, didn't make adjustments to Toledo

Post-game discussion: LBs have responsibilities for the running QB to keep him contained. At times BYU had 4 freshmen playing LB so that inexperience was exposed a bit.
Defense giving up 242 yards rushing is way too much.

Dayan G's interview that may be a bit telling--(I'll paraphrase)--People keep saying the tough part of the schedule is behind us but its not. Its just starting. Every game is a dogfight and if you don't show up you won't win.

I was disappointed to hear that Wilson was benched because of injury. I was hoping that he was benched because of play. With 1 minute left, 3 time outs, tie game, on your 25 there is no reason to throw 30 yards into double coverage in the middle of the field.

I'm a big Jaren Hall fan, and I haven't been impressed with Wilson's decision making. Hopefully they open up the competition and give him 50/50 reps over the bye week. Hall is every bit as good as Wilson, he just needs the reps and game xp.

Sitake interview: All phases of the game this week were not good enough--offense, defense, special teams, and coaching. Could not get momentum going their way. The guys are playing hard but as a team they aren't playing good enough together and that is the coach's job to fix. They are going to evaluate everything and get ready for USF. "Looks like we'll have a new QB for our next game". Said they are still evaluating but Jaren Hall will be the QB for USF at this point.
