Re: Navy Game
Solid win. I was very nervous. I knew they had a new QB, but I had never seen any of KN's teams get man handled like that.
I just watched the highlights of the Army Middle TN game and I'm not worried at all. MT didn't seem to be able to handle the option. Like they had never expected it. The turnover's killed MT too with Army grabbing two defensive TD's.

Re: Navy Game
How much of this game was BYU being awesome vs. Navy just being horrible? They hadn't even done a single contact drill. I felt sorry for them.
TBH I'm not excited for the rest of the schedule. I watched this game on a free trial. Convince me why I should pay to watch the rest of season? I'm also saving up for a major purchase so I really am considering not subscribing to any TV service.

You can always sign up for new free trials around each game with temporary email addresses.byufan4ever wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 12:48 pm How much of this game was BYU being awesome vs. Navy just being horrible? They hadn't even done a single contact drill. I felt sorry for them.

Also, I most likely will open the CougarCorner Cave to viewing most games for those who feel comfortable visiting someone else's house wear masks are not worn and crowds could get up to 10 or so people.

Re: Navy Game
Very happy with the win. I expected more out of Navy and I think Ken N did too. He said that wasn't the real Navy team out there and I believe him. Frankly, I think Army will be a tougher opponent and that isn't because Army won their opener. I think BYU can go undefeated with this schedule and hope BYU can add more games.

Re: Navy Game
We had a major wind storm in Vancouver WA and our power went out during halftime. It looks the second half was more of the same as the first half.

Wow, must have been windy all over the west the last 2 days. I never heard or even thought of schools being closed for wind. That happened today in Utah. Incredible. I once worked for a company with regional offices in North Dakota. On one visit, the wind was so bad it actually smashed the side windows in 3 vehicles in the parking lot.vancouvercougar wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:49 pm We had a major wind storm in Vancouver WA and our power went out during halftime. Yes, the 2nd half seemed to follow the same line of the 1st half.

Re: Navy Game
I'm still trying to understand today how Navy believed it was okay to practice, but that tackling would endanger their players to such an extent that KN set the rules of practice to not include any such contact. It doesn't make sense. I'm sure, same as BYU, they were testing and now they played a game where they had to tackle. It's okay to risk that contact in a game, but not in practice. I guess I'm too logical, because that doesn't make sense to me, but gave him a huge out after getting blown off the field by BYU.

Re: Navy Game
I am sure a lack of scrimmaging affected Navy, but no amount of scrimmaging and live tackling would’ve stopped that debacle. Navy was owned on both sides of the line of scrimmage throughout the entire game. Even the second and third stringers controlled things.EM_Puma wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 5:18 pm I'm still trying to understand today how Navy believed it was okay to practice, but that tackling would endanger their players to such an extent that KN set the rules of practice to not include any such contact. Re: Navy Game
I agree. I just watched After Further Review on BYUtv and David Nixon pointed out that fact that it wasn't so much that Navy was not tackling effectively as it was that BYU was blowing the Midshipmen off the line and opening the way for the offense. That has nothing to do with lack of tackling in their fall camp.BoiseBYU wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 6:57 pmI am sure a lack of scrimmaging affected Navy, but no amount of scrimmaging and live tackling would’ve stopped that debacle.
