Can Wilson take the best 5-game stretch title?
I've posted previously about how Zach Wilson has had the best 3-game and 4-game stretches in BYU history in terms of QB PER. Can he set the 5-game record as well?
Here's the best 5-game stretches, with Zach's 4-game rate as well. Some interesting observations:
Here's the best 5-game stretches, with Zach's 4-game rate as well. Some interesting observations:
- John Walsh simply could not run. Sacked 18 times, which is a lot. But to lose 110 yards rushing. That's insane. And he put up huge numbers yet still lost three of the five games because of an even worse defense.
- Ty Detmer had a lot of rushing touchdowns.
- I'd like to see the 2020 led Wilson team add some more TDs, the 14 through 4 games seems low. I'd love to see an explosion against the red Cougars and get him closer to 20 through 5.
- It was surprising to see how bad the 1996 schedule was. That's a stretch of really bad teams.
- That 1996 team was also really good at running the ball, based on how little Sarkisian needed to throw.
